Picture of Baby
Babies are wonderful gifts from God and they are ever so lovely to hold and cuddle. Many times when we carry babies in our arms, we feel like remembering what it was like as babies. Not many parents had the time or considered it a worthy exercise to take the pictures of their babies. Your parents may probably be in this category if you don’t get to see pictures of you when you were a baby. As a grown up now that has a baby of his or her own or you don’t have yet but love babies all the same, you can spare some time to take the picture of your baby.
The picture of baby whenever or wherever it was taken could be one of the most gratifying gifts you may ever get to hand over when the baby is all grown up. The reason for this is that it is one of the most wonderful ways of documenting precious moments in the life of the baby and for this, the baby would be eternally grateful.
One of the most frustrating tasks you could ever embark upon is trying to take the picture of a baby. It was said that the act is lovely and rewarding but nobody said it was going to be easy. As a parent or a caregiver, you may not find any other task more difficult than trying to take a baby’s picture. If you see a beautiful picture of baby hung anywhere again, you should then salute the courage and ingenuity of the photographer for being able to capture these moments on film. If you are able to learn of the technique of taking babies’ pictures, the task may not be difficult after all. There are some key things which if noted would make you good at it and if you have spare time on your hands, you may even become a professional.
• Act Like A Baby
The first thing you need to bear in mind if you want a good picture of
baby is that you are not about to deal with an adult and you are not likely
to get the type of cooperation an adult would give you. To catch the attention
of a baby, the best way is to act out like one. Of course this does not
mean you would go in a diaper or suck your thumb but you should think
of getting down to the baby’s level. Acting a little silly by singing
songs and making funny noises are some of the ways of getting the attention
of a baby and making her smile. Unless you really want to be a pain in
the neck of the baby, you should come down to the level of a baby in the
literal sense when taking her picture. You are not likely going to get
a lovely picture of baby with a kink in the neck trying to look up at
you.
• Get the Right Angle
When you are asked to take a snap shot, you would try many poses or simply
wait for the photographer to guide you through so that he may capture
your frame from the best angle. You don’t have to wonder for long what
a baby’s response would be when asked to change her pose even if you don’t
have one. To take a good picture of baby, the baby would have to trust
you totally on capturing the best angle. It may take some of your time
but trying out different angles is the best trick to use here. Whenever
you think you have one, don’t hesitate to take the shot, you may be a
fraction behind time if you are not fast enough. Most babies are quick
to change their positions and emotions which could heighten your frustration.
• Trying Using Sunlight
Whether you are taking the picture of baby or that of an adult, you need
to bear in mind that lighting is an essential part you need to have to
get a good photograph. The natural sunlight is provides the best light
for good photography especially on a slightly overcast day. Where there
is heavy lighting effect, dark shadows may be created and lighting that
is too dim would also produce low accuracy in color and partial loss of
detail. As babies are still not used to certain things, using the flash
of your camera could get them startled which is another reason the natural
lighting is advised.
• Get an Extra Hand
If you would want to get the exercise over and done with, you would probably
need to have an extra hand to help you with the baby while you try to
focus your lens. A good picture of baby can best be taken when there is
someone else around to position the baby again after changing her position.
You need to be prepared for this and try not to lose your patience otherwise
you would never get those lovely pictures you have been dreaming of taking.
• Take As Many Pictures
As You Can _______________________________________________
You should never count on taking a couple of shots before you get the
right picture of baby you would be proud of. Take several shots from different
angles. It is also lovely to take a picture of baby while she is doing
different things such as when in motion, yawning, crying or reaching for
something. You would be surprised at the beautiful compilation you would
end up with at the end of the day. The surprise is not over yet; wait
till the baby grows old enough to recognize who is in the pictures.
